Wondering where to visit in Alaska? The options are endless! Most people find they can't do it all and they come back again. No matter what you seek, Alaska offers in-city excitement, outdoor activities, and some incredible wildlife and scenery, Alaska has everything you could ask for in a vacation.

Alaska is known as one of the most scenic states. Endless tree-covered mountains and icy peaks that rise above the fjords are common in the Southeast, while farther north, roads are side-by-side with mountains and rivers. Arctic tundra, boreal forests, and volcanic islands are also part of the landscape.

Alaska is divided into eight regions: Anchorage, the Kenai Peninsula (a very popular fishing spot), Prince William Sound, Western Interior Alaska, Eastern Interior Alaska, Southeast Alaska, Southwest Alaska, and Arctic and Western Alaska. Each area boasting unique offerings for visitors.

Alaska's largest city, Anchorage, is also the state's economic, commercial, and transport hub. Visitors looking for a little in-city excitement will enjoy the theaters, museums, shops, parks, and restaurants. Anchorage's many sites of interest are located in historic downtown. The Anchorage Museum of History and Art has most of the state's finest art, it also devotes many exhibits to Alaskan history and Native American culture. The Imaginarium is a great place to take kids who love science, while adults who want to see a truly unique building can explore the 4th Avenue Theater, which is designed in Art Deco style. The Alaska Native Heritage Center, the Alaska Zoo, and the Independence Mine State Park are also popular places to visit. If you interested in theater or concerts can visit the Alaska Center for Performing Arts, which holds opera, dance theater, and concert performances.

The Kenai Peninsula is an interesting mix of city and rugged terrain. Popular places to go include Resurrection Pass, which is the state's most popular hiking route, the Kenai River, where those looking for a bit of adventure enjoy rafting and spectacular fishing. Those looking for the in-city experience can visit the Alaska Sea Life Center in nearby Seward or the Islands and Ocean Visitor Center in the town of Homer.

The, Prince William Sound is located in the northernmost part of the Gulf of Alaska. You can visit Valdez, Cordova, and Whittier which are home to the popular cruises allowing visitors to see whales, seals, and sea otters.

Denali National Park, home to Mount McKinley, is Alaska's most famous destination. If you are coming in the summer I would recommend Denali State Park.

If you are into a rugged trip and your love for the outdoors outweighs your need for hotel rooms. The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is fantastic for those who want to see one of America's last
true wildernesses, while the Kobuk, Noatak, John, Kongucut, and Hulahula Rivers are visited by those who like to kayak, fish, and view the wildlife in their habitat.

Alaska has every possible type of vacation you might be seeking. Many of those who come to visit decide to stay. Alaska is a way of life with unique offering and unique people. Truly unspoiled land and many fantastic places to see.

We hope to see you soon!

Move on down the page, there is more to see!
